Best Skateboard Elements for a Good Complete Setup
There are so many different brands of skateboard decks, trucks, and wheels to choose from, but how do you know which one is the best for your style of skateboarding? Today I will be going over the different elements required to have a good complete setup for street skating. First off with a quick definition of Street skateboarding, it consists mostly of flat ground tricks and various grinds. It's an excellent sport for every age and encourages learning and practice.
Starting off with the deck, I would say the best deck for a good setup would either be Baker, Girl, or Real Skateboards. The quality of these decks means that they won't break easily and they feel good under your feet when riding and trying tricks. Skateboard decks are all made differently so although these are good brands for street skating, it's up to you and what you think feels right.
The next element for a good street setup is a good set of trucks. I find that Independent is the best brand for trucks because they are high quality and decently priced. I'd recommend Stage 11 hollow silver standard skateboard trucks, these trucks will last a long time without any problems and they look good on any board because they're just basic good looking trucks. The size of your trucks depends on the size of your deck but it's not extremely important, as long as your wheels aren't sticking out too much.
For bearings I would have to go with Bones reds. They have been widely known in the street skating community and are the highest quality bearings made to date. If kept and cared for correctly, these bearings could last a long time. I have skated Bones reds my whole life and i've never had any problems with them, they last a while and feel smooth while i'm rolling.
Lastly for wheels, I'd recommend Spitfire Formula Four 101A Conical Fulls. These wheels are the hardest and most durable wheels I've ever skated. They'll last forever as long as you swap them around to make sure they don't wear down. They Are wider wheels but it makes for an easier ride up to do your trick.
